Mandala sample

Here is a sample of the latest mandalas I have been working on.

A new look

I have a new look to my website as well as having made it easier to navigate. Drop by and take a look, send me a note to let me know how you like it or didn't like it. There has also been some new patterns added under the category of "graphically designed", I have been making mandala patterns which were a lot of fun. I hope you enjoy the new look.

Native Feathers

I just recently made this for our daughter in law who is Apache and Cherokee. This is also framed in a shadowbox and is lit from inside by 50 of the tiny white tree type lights. I don't think I like this method of lighting all that well but was the only option we could find that worked with this particular glass piece. Rope light did not give enough light, the fluorescent I had used before did not look right, so all I could find that would not give off too much heat was the tiny white lights. We did put foil on the backing to make the lights reflect off the black background.

Hummingbirds for Mom

I made this for my mother's birthday. It is hanging in their large front picture window and looks gorgeous. The hummingbird on the right hand side has one wing that stands out from the glass. It was a challenge to get that wing reinforced and attached in the seam since I had never done that before. This panel also had a horrible accident, it fell off of the window ledge where my dog left it to go get the camera to take pictures, darned dog! People never do stupid stunts like that :) Anyway, that was my first experience with removing broken glass pieces and repairing. I was so totally frustrated and mad at myself (errr my dog) for leaving that panel unattached to the window so that it rolled off but it was a lot of good experience in repairing, I guess that is the silver lining?

The story of the "fragile" lamp

My husband wanted the leg lamp from the movie, "A Christmas Story", so this is what I came up with. It's framed in a shadowbox and lit from the inside by a single small fluorescent fixture. It was such a fun piece to work on and the first time I had done anything with overlay (the mesh stocking is copper mesh made black by patina). This hangs in our dining room. Everyone just loves it.

Butterfly Panel

This was the second piece of stained glass I made, it hangs in our kitchen window. There are a lot of little imperfections but it teaches me every time I look at it and I must say I am still proud of it :)

Burning Man

I made this for my daughter who attends Burning Man every year. She is very proud of it and keeps it in a window where she can see it all of the time.
